Description
Wright biplane engine and seats. Close-up view of the seats and engine in a Wright biplane from 1911. These seats were for the pilot and a single passenger. US aviation pioneers Wilbur and Orville Wright produced a series of glider designs (1900 to 1902) and then a series of Wright Flyer aircraft, including the first successful flight in a heaver-than-air machine (17 December 1903). The first Wright model to carry more than one pilot was the Wright Model A (1908), followed by the first dedicated two-seater for a passenger and pilot, the Wright Model B (1910).
