Description
Woolly rhinoceros (Coelodonta antiquitatis). Computer illustration of a woolly rhino in the rain. This extinct rhino lived in the northern steppes of Eurasia during the Pleistocene epoch (1. 8 million years ago to 10,000 years ago). It was well adapted to harsh cold conditions with thick, shaggy fur, small ears, short legs and a massive body to conserve heat. It grew up to 2 metres tall at the shoulder and 3.5 metres long. It also had two horns, with its longer front horn reaching up to 1 metre in length.
