His poetic works include 'The Baviad' (1791) and 'The Maeviad' (1795). From 1809 to 1824, he edited the 'Quarterly Review' Artwork from 'Illustrations of the Literary History of the Eighteenth Century', an 8-volume work published between 1817 and 1858 by English printer and antiquarian John Nichols and his son John Bowyer Nichols.
