An erratic boulder on a terminal moraine of Fjallsjoekull is disintegrating due to extreme weathering. It is surrounded by tundra vegetation. In the background are icebergs in a proglacial lake formed as a result of the recession of Fjallsjoekull. The latter is a glacier descending from oraefajokull volcanic complex, a massive stratovolcano visible in the background.
