Washington National Airport. Satellite image of runways and terminals at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Washington DC, USA. North is at right. This is the closest airport to the centre of Washington DC. It is located on the banks of the Potomac River (across bottom). There are three runways, one horizontal and two crossing it and intersecting at an angle. The horizontal one is the longest, at just over 2 kilometres long. The terminal buildings are seen across centre, while major roads run across top, and a large shopping centre is across top right. The airport dates to 1941.
