Description
Vacuum chambers. Physicists testing vacuum chambers at CERN (the European particle physics laboratory) near Geneva, Switzerland. These vacuum chambers were used as beam tubes in the large electron-positron (LEP) collider. Gas molecules were sucked out of the chambers at very low pressures to minimise their interference with the particles wanted for the experiments in the collider.
