Upper jaw bone, 3D micro-computed tomography (CT) scan. This upper jaw bone (maxilla) is an archaeological specimen that was scanned as part of a study by researchers looking at teeth mineralisation. Three teeth (white and grey) are present. This specimen dates from the medieval period. The scan was constructed from over 1400 virtual X-ray slices.
