Artist's Description

MODEL RELEASED. Ugandan refugee mother and child. Mother laughing as she plays with her young child at a refugee camp in a rural region of Gulu, Uganda. Northern Uganda is the site of an armed rebellion by the Lord's Resistance Army. The intensity of the conflict has increased since 2002, and many people have been displaced by the fighting. These people often migrate to camps known as displacement persons camps, which house local refugees (called 'internally displaced people').
