Transit of Venus. View of the planet Venus (black dot, upper centre) moving across the face of the Sun, partially obscured by clouds. Such transits are rare, occurring in pairs over 100 years apart. The last transit of Venus occurred on 6th June 2012. The next pair of transits will occur in 2117 and 2125.
