Description
False colour scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the dirty collar of a pure cotton shirt. The woven cotton threads, which themselves consist of many sub-threads, are almost completely coated with grease, grime & skin flakes from the person's skin. Compare with H120/039 which shows the same piece of collar after it has been washed in a washing machine. Magnification: X 72 at 8x10- inch size, X 10 at 35mm size. Original is bw print b120/018
