New York. Satellite image of the area surrounding Times Square (lower left) in Manhattan, New York City, USA. North is at top. This is the mid-town area of Manhattan, stretching from Central Park (top right) to Madison Square Garden (round arena, bottom left). Large skyscrapers are seen at centre along the Avenue of the Americas. The square park at lower centre is Bryant Park, and Times Square is just left and above Bryant Park. Broadway runs south-north through Times Square, up to the lower left corner of Central Park. The Hudson River is just seen in the top left corner. The area seen is about 2.6 kilometres across. Image taken by the Ikonos satellite on 8 June 2002.
