Description
Sulphur spring. Yellow deposits of sulphur at a bubbling geothermal (hot) spring. Sulphur and other minerals were dissolved in the water whilst underground. The water is warmed by naturally- occurring geothermal heat in deep rocks. Thermal springs like this often occur in volcanic areas. Photographed at Waiotapu (Maori for Sacred Water") on North Island, New Zealand."
