Beer test. Testing of beer in a laboratory to ensure that it does not degrade in quality during storage. The samples are being kept in rows of glass vials. Beer contains natural preservatives that come from the hops which are added during production. Hops are the female fruit-heads of the hop plant, Humulus lupulus. Other ingredients of beer include water, malt (modified cereal grains), yeast and sometimes herbs or spices as well.
