Description
Aerial view of Spurn Head, Humberside, England. Spurn Head is a coastal peninsula, formed by the deposition of sand across the Humber estuary. Sand was carried from the north along the coast by the mechanism of long-shore drift. As the sand reached the estuary, it was deposited forming a long sand bar. In time, this has become a four mile long peninsula.
