Spring squill flowers (Scilla verna). These bloom in undisturbed grasslands on the western coasts of the UK. Photographed in Lizard National Nature Reserve (a Site of Special Scientific Interest, an SSSI), Cornwall, England. One of the aims of an SSSI is to conserve plants and animals that are sensitive to disturbance.
