Spanish galleon San Jose, illustration. This ship has been a holy grail for treasure seekers. It was sunk off the coast of Cartagena (in modern-day Columbia) in 1708. It was part of the Spanish treasure fleet, and was laden with gold, silver and emeralds. The ship was located by the Columbian Navy in 2015, with plans to raise it announced in 2017.
