Description
Skin sheet cultures being grown in petri dishes in a laboratory. The skin sheets are the translucent areas seen in the growth mediums in the petri dishes. Sheets of skin are grown from skin cells taken from the patient (autografts) or an external source (allografts). These cultured skin sheets can then be used to treat conditions such as severe burns. Photographed at Tokyo Women's University, Japan.
