Saturn-Jupiter conjunction (lower right) and the Moon (left) seen with the Washington Monument, Washington DC, USA. A planetary conjunction is when two planets are seen close together in the sky as viewed from Earth. Saturn (upper right) and Jupiter (lower right) are drawing closer to each other in the sky before the 'Great Conjunction' on the 21st December 2020 when the planets reached their closest alignment, a tenth of a degree apart. Photographed on 17th December 2020.
