Description
Sandhill crane (Grus canadensis). This bird is found in wetlands in several parts of the USA. It wades in shallow water using its beak to probe for food such as plant seeds and berries, as well as small water animals. It can reach a height of over 1.2 metres and has a wingspan of about 2 metres. Photographed at Oakland Zoo, California, USA.
