Salted pork industry. 19th-century illustrations of the process of preparing salted pork, from slaughtering pigs in an abattoir (top), cutting up the meat (butchering, centre), rendering it (lower left) and salting and packing it (lower right). This chromolithograph was published in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. The artworks had been exhibited by the Cincinnati Pork Packers' Association, at the International Exposition held in Vienna, Austria-Hungary, from May to October 1873.
