Salmon farm pen. This salmon farm is off the West Coast of Scotland, near Port Appin. The salmon are reared in pens like this one, being fed by hand on pellets of fish food three times a day. There are 40-50,000 fish in each pen. A random selection are weighed each morning and a whiteboard (lower centre) is used to make notes for each pen. Photographed in April 2006.
