Description
A front view of the rosy rustic (Hydraecia micacea) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. The flight period is August to October with a single brood each year. This species is a member of the noctuidae family and is found throughout the UK, Europe and the palearctic ecozone. The larval food plants are a range of low plants including dock. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in September.
