Description
Roseate spoonbills (Ajaja ajaja) standing on one leg in water. The bird on the right is preening its feathers. This wading bird is found from the extreme south-eastern USA to central South America, and lives in large flocks in shallow coastal waters, swamps and marshes. It feeds on small fish and other water life, which it catches by sweeping its large bill through the water. Photographed in Florida, USA.
