Description
Rose-hips. The false fruit from the dog rose (Rosa canina) shrub. The hips are edible, both cooked and raw, used to make preserves (jam) and syrups. It is taken as a dietary supplement as it is a very rich source of vitamins A, C, E and (unusually in fruits) essential fatty acids. Rose- hips are also used as a herbal remedy to make infusions (tea), to treat colds & influenza (flu).
