Description

Road construction displaying the stages in laying a concrete road. The road is laid in two halves, one of which has been laid here. The first stage is to lay a layer of concrete half the depth of the road, followed by reinforcing steel rods. Then the top half of the road is laid with premixed concrete and consolidated. Several different road layers can be seen at centre left. The final stage is to level and smooth the surface, applying a layer of reflective aluminium paint to control the rate at which the concrete sets.
