Under the new UN Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) this chemical strength has a hazard label GHS07 for dilutions from 2.0M to 5.0M. As well as the symbol there is a signal word and suppliers provide numbered statements (H315 H319 H335) that give more information. At this concentration it can cause skin irritation, serious eye irritation and may cause respiratory irritation. Hydrochloric acid is a common laboratory chemical, used in a wide range of reactions, and is also used extensively in the chemical industry.
