Description
Queen Nefertiti carving. Queen Nefertiti (c.1370-1330 BC) was the wife of Akhenaten, a pharoah of the eighteenth dynasty of Egypt. Nefertiti and Akhenaten worshiped only one god, the Aten (sun disc), and were responsible for the creation of a whole new religion that changed the ways of religion within Ancient Egypt. This limestone relief carving is part of the collections of the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology at University College London (UCL). It dates to 1352-1336 BC.
