Description
Plan for Washington D.C. by Andrew Ellicott (1754-1820), revised from the work of Pierre Charles L'Enfant (1754-1825). This plan was published in 1792. Land was donated from both Maryland and Virginia, to form the federal District of Columbia, the capital and seat of government of the USA. Washington D.C was founded in July 1790, the transfer of government from Philadelphia was completed by June 1801.
