Chaos fractal. Fractal image derived from chaos theory. This image, entitled Overseer, was made by repeating simple mathematical operations upon data in the complex plane. The colours are determined by the time it takes the function to diverge to infinity at each point. Chaos theory may be used to model apparently random processes, such as turbulent fluid flow, the weather and stock market prices.
