Description
MODEL RELEASED. Occupational therapist working with a 4-year old boy who has delayed development of fine motor control specific to his hands. Here, the therapist is showing the boy the proper way to hold a paintbrush, correcting his hold from the cylinder grip to the tripod grip. Occupational therapy is aimed at enabling people who have been disabled by physical illness or a serious accident to relearn muscular control and coordination, to cope with everyday tasks (such as dressing) and, when possible, to resume some form of employment.
