Description
North Island robins (Petroica australis longipes). Parent (right) feeding a worm to its young (left). This species of robin is native to the North Island of New Zealand. It inhabits forests and feeds mainly on the forest floor taking a variety of invertebrates, but will also feed on berries in the summer and autumn. This bird is in decline due to the loss of its natural habitat. Photographed in Bushy Park Reserve, North Island, New Zealand.
