Description
New Zealand flax (Phormium tenax). This watercolour was commissioned by Sir Joseph Banks and sketched by Sydney Parkinson during the Endeavour Voyage. Parkinson died at sea before he could complete it, and it was finished by Frederick Nodder years later.
