Neolithic sculptor. Artwork of a man from a European Stone Age culture carving a Venus figurine beside a fire. Venus figurines are prehistoric statuette female figures that have similar features, with anatomical exaggerations. They are among the earliest known examples of prehistoric art. They were carved from soft stone, bone or ivory, or formed of clay and fired. This man is depicted as part of a Neolithic culture, the period dating from around 12,000 to 4,000 years ago.
