Description
Cotton harvesting. Mechanized harvesting of cotton plants (Gossypium sp.) a crop grown for its fibres, which are woven into textiles. The white fibres, known as lint, are seed hairs contained within a seed capsule or boll. Mechanical harvesters either pull the fibres from open bolls or remove the bolls from the plant. The lint is stored in hoppers to be transported from the field. Photographed in southern Spain.
