Description
Marine iguanas (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) basking on a rock. This is the only truly marine lizard. They are found around the coasts of the Galapagos Islands. They spend much of their time in the water feeding on seaweed and algae near the shore. They are large lizards, with some individuals reaching nearly 2 metres in length. Photographed on Fernandina Island, Galapagos Islands.
