The lotus flower, a member of the water-lily family, is sacred in India and China, as Buddha was supposedly born in the heart of a lotus flower. Photographed in the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens, in the Pamplemousses district of Port Louis, Mauritius.
