Description

Long Island Solar Farm (LISF), aerial photograph. This solar array is a 32-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant on Long Island, New York, USA. It was built through a collaboration between BP Solar, the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), and the US Department of Energy (DoE). It is located on land belonging to Brookhaven National Laboratory. Construction began in 2010, and it began delivering power to the LIPA grid in November 2011, and is among the largest solar photovoltaic power stations in the USA. Photographed in 2011.
