Description
Illustration of Lepidodendron sp. plants at various life cycle stages. The plant develops from spores released by cone-like structures. Mature plants reached over 30 metres tall and had branches only at the very tops. Lepidodendron were related to the lycopods (club mosses). The insect shown resting on a tree trunk at lower left is a Homoioptera sp.
