Kepler-10 exoplanet system. In the foreground is Kepler-10c, a rocky planet that weighs 17 times as much as Earth and is more than twice as large in size. Planet formation theorists are attempting to explain how this planet may have formed. This planet is one of many discovered by NASA's Kepler space observatory, which was launched in 2009. Kepler-10 is 608 light years from Earth, in the constellation of Draco. This image was published in 2014.
