Description

Coloured 3D computed tomography (CT) scan of the jaw of a 38 year old male patient showing a benign (non-cancerous) bony lesion (purple) in the mandible (lower jaw). It is suggestive of an ameloblastoma, which forms from the cells that produce teeth enamel. The lesions can cause painful swellings and facial deformity. Treatment is with surgical removal of the tumour.
