Description
Iroquois maize harvest, illustration. The Iroquois (also known as the Haudenosaunee) are a Native American people found in what is now the north-eastern USA. Traditionally, most of their diet was from farming, though they also fished and hunted animals. The crops they cultivated included corn (maize, Zea mays), shown being harvested here. For further Iroquois images, see image C027/0579 and C027/0578.
