Description
Iron (II) sulphate solution. Beaker of an aqueous solution of iron (II) sulphate (FeSO4). The green colour arises from the transition metal ion present here, in this case iron. The Fe ion is in its +2 (II) oxidation state, and is forming a hydrated complex ion structure with molecules of water. Iron (II) sulphate is used as a food additive and as a dye.
