Description
Interplanetary Raptor engine test by SpaceX. This engine uses liquid oxygen and liquid methane as rocket propellants. The Raptor engines have three times the thrust of the Merlin engines used on earlier versions of the Falcon rockets. SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies) is a private US aerospace and space transport services company. It was founded in 2002 and has developed the Falcon rockets and the Dragon spacecraft. Future plans include crewed flights to Mars, as well as the possibility of sending spacecraft to the planets and moons of the outer solar system. Photographed on 25 September 2016.
