Artist's Description

Group portrait of some of the delegates of the 1920 International Psychoanalytical Congress, held in the Hague, Netherlands. At front centre is the Austrian psychiatrist Sigmund Freud (1856-1939). Seated second from left is the British neurologist and psychoanalyst Ernest Jones (1879-1958). Seated second from right is the Hungarian psychoanalyst Sando Ferenczi (1873-1933) and standing at centre is the German psychoanalyst Karl Abraham (1877-1925).
