Description
Human skull development. Coloured x-ray of three human skulls including a newborn, a child and an adult. The newborn's skull (left) has a gap in the cranium where the skull plates have not yet sealed. The plates have sealed in the child's skull (centre). Secondary teeth can be seen above the milk teeth which they will eventually replace. The jaw of the fully formed adult skull (right) contains a full set of secondary teeth.
