Roman skeleton in Britain. A human skeleton found at the Roman site at Fishbourne, near Chichester in England. The skeleton dates towards the end of Roman Britain, and is remarkably well preserved. The Roman site at Fishbourne was discovered in 1960 and is identified as the palace of Cogidubnus, King of the Regnenses and Roman legate in Britain. The King's palace was built about 70 A.D., and was one of the most lavish palaces at that time in the Roman empire.
