Description
Hoar frost. Hoar frost on dead fallen leaves. Frost occurs when the air is saturated with water vapour and the temperature falls below zero degrees Celsius. When the surface temperature is also below zero degrees Celsius hoar frost occurs. The water vapour will sublime into crystals around convenient condensation nuclei, such as a dust particle or a leaf fibre.
