Artist's Description

Heating a sealed container. Experiment being conducted to demonstrate what happens when an empty tin can is heated with its lid tightly sealed. The contents of the can, and any air sealed inside, will expand, creating pressure and causing the lid to come off or the container to explode. This is a blue bunsen burner flame, providing more heat than a yellow bunsen burner flame.
