Description
Glyptodon, illustration. This extinct prehistoric mammal is related to armadillos. It lived from 2.5 million to 11,000 years ago, during the Pleistocene. This large, armoured mammal was about 3.3. metres long, about the size of a small car. It originated in South America, but fossils have been found as far north as Guatemala.
