Description
DNA electrophoresis gel. Gloved hand picking up a sheet of agarose gel used in electrophoresis separation of DNA (DeoxyriboNucleic Acid). During electrophoresis, DNA samples are placed into depressions or wells in the gel. Each sample of DNA contains many fragments of DNA. The fragments are separated by applying an electric current across the gel. Some fragments will move faster through the gel and become separated from others over time. This allows the composition of the DNA to be observed and analysed.
